Plan Eastern

Plan Eastern Nova is a project to create a Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Land Use Bylaw (LUB) for all areas of the Municipalities of Antigonish, Inverness, Richmond and Victoria Counties that currently do not have planning documents in place. This project will bring these municipalities into compliance with the Provincial mandate that all areas of Nova Scotia have comprehensive land use planning. Notice of Public Hearing

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of the Municipality of the County of Antigonish intends to consider and, if deemed advisable, approve:

  • Amendments to the Residential (R-1) Zone to increase the maximum height for senior citizen housing and institutional uses in the West River Antigonish Harbour Land Use By-law.

Copies of the Staff Reports, providing more detailed information on the proposed amendments, can be inspected at the Municipal Office of Antigonish County (285 Beech Hill) or at the office of the Eastern District Planning Commission (606 Reeves Street, Unit 3, Port Hawkesbury) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 pm weekdays (excluding statutory holidays), on the Eastern District Planning Commission website www.edpc.ca, or by contacting Toll Free 1-888-625-5361.

Any written or oral presentations (in favour or opposition) to the proposed recommendations can be made before Municipal Council at a Public Hearing to be held on: Tuesday April 9th, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. Council Chambers, 285 Beech Hill Road, Antigonish County
